Why BPSS Matters to Our Students
The Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS) oversees non-degree-granting private career schools in New York State. By securing this license, Southern Tier Cybersecurity is unlocking massive benefits for our community:
- Eligibility for the NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
- Pathway to accepting VA Education Benefits (GI Bill / Chapter 33).
- Rigorous state-approved consumer protections and refund policies.
- The first step toward national accreditation and Federal Title IV (Pell Grants) eligibility.
Licensure Timeline
Phase 1: Corporate Readiness (Completed)
LLC established, active Federal EIN, active SAM.gov ID, and full Grants.gov registration complete. Engaged compliance attorneys and CPAs.
Phase 2: Curriculum & Application Submission (Current)
Finalizing over 20+ accredited CompTIA and EC-Council curriculums for state review. Securing median-market real estate for the STC physical campus in the Southern Tier.
Phase 3: State Evaluation & Site Inspection
Undergoing the rigid 180-day BPSS evaluation period, including fire, safety, ADA compliance, and state site inspections.
